Staffing for next year We have some changes in staffing from September, the most important of which is that we will be losing Mrs Ryan who has decided to take early retirement in order to pursue her many and varied interests outside school. We also say goodbye to Mrs Eaves who has been with us in Reception since Christmas. We will be gaining a new full time member of staff, Mr Matthews, who will be Year 5 and 6 class teacher. We will be splitting the Year 5/6 class for literacy and maths, with Mrs Paddock taking one group and Mr Matthews the second. Mrs Paddock will be teaching throughout the school, while Mrs Hood will move to share Reception with Mrs Shanks, and Miss McKenna will be teaching in Key Stage 1 with Mrs Ward. Miss Poole and Mrs Llewelyn will continue to share Year 3 and 4. According to our policy of thinking about the stage that pupils are working at rather than their age, some children will be taught with pupils from other classes at various times during the day. Year 1 pupils will continue to be registered with Reception in Farrant room. To summarise, our staffing for September will be: Year R Mrs Shanks, Mrs Hood, Mrs Croft and Mrs Mitchell Year 1 and 2 Mrs Ward, Miss McKenna, Mrs Gailer and Mrs Houlding Year 3 and 4 Miss Poole, Mrs Llewelyn Mrs Fox and Mrs Meredith Year 5 and 6 Mr Matthews and Mrs Anderson PPA cover and additional teaching in Year 5 and 6 - Mrs Paddock Special Needs Co-ordinator Mrs Thelwell Bursar Mrs Robinson Maintenance Mr Llewelyn Sainsburys Active Kids Vouchers Although this promotion will finish in stores on 8th June we will still be collecting these up until the first week in July so please keep bringing them in. Thank you TRIP TO THE WILDFOWL & WETLANDS CENTRE Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 enjoyed a day at the Wildfowl & Wetlands Centre last Wednesday and had a truly wonderful day, the sun was shining and the children enjoyed watching the wildfowl and taking part in the activities. There were many compliments on the children that day from the staff, helpers and staff at the centre who all said how well behaved the children were – a real credit to the school. Thank you to those parents who came along on the day – we really appreciated your help Sponsored Fun Run TOTAL RAISED so far….£715.22 – if you still have sponsorship money to hand in then please do so by the end of the week with the sponsorship form if possible – well done to everybody! If you do not need the bag then please return it to the office so we have some spares if needed. Please bring your full bags to school on the morning of the collection and leave them in the ‘bus stop’ as we are not able to store them in school beforehand. Many thanks SCHOOL JUMPERS Now that the warmer weather is finally here the children are often taking off their school jumpers – please could parents make sure that these are named or renamed and just check if any other items need renaming as many of the names in jumpers have faded away and risk being lost Yapton & District Cottage Gardeners’ Society We have been asked to advertise some dates for your diary for events that are run by the above society Programme of Events 2010-2011 Saturday 19th June Early Summer Show Saturday 14th August Summer Show Saturday 2nd October Autumn Show Wednesday 27th October Members Meeting Wednesday 1st December Members Christmas Meeting & AGM Friday 10th December Yetties Concert Saturday 5th February Primrose Sale Friday 11th March Barn Dance Saturday 19th March Spring Show Further details on the above events or membership can be obtained by contacting David Donovan on 01903 726006 CLYMPING SCHOOL FUNDRAISING GROUP NEWS Summer Fair The summer fair is frighteningly close and we need to start thinking about stalls and prizes. If you are able to help on the day, please sign up on the parents’ board. If you are able to donate prizes of any sort, please leave them in the school office. As usual, we will be holding non uniform days in the next few weeks and the ‘forfeit’ for not wearing uniform is paid in the form of a prize. On Friday 25th June please wear sports clothing (no boots) and bring in a prize for the children’s tombola. On Friday 2nd July please wear something in the colour of your school team and bring in a prize for the adult tombola. On both days there will be points for the teams that bring in the most prizes. Any money raised at the fair will be put towards the new art room which we hope will be finished over the summer holidays – and anything that is left over from that will be used for an event day such as the Lego and Music days that the children love so much.
