The story follows three children as they attempt to set up the first lunar library on the moon! As with each year, the children will be challenged to read up to six books from their local library and they will collect rewards at each stage, culminating in a certificate and medal for those who complete the challenge. Children can register for Space Hop in any West Sussex library from Saturday 17th July and the scheme runs throughout the summer holidays with the final date being Saturday 11th September. The scheme is aimed at 4-12 year olds and is FREE to join. After reading their first book the children will receive a hologram membership card and pull out poster to collect their stickers. There are three ‘scratch & sniff’ stickers, a bookmark, certificate and medal to collect. Younger children can join in by taking part in the Space Hop Bookstart Bookcrawl to earn a special alien themed certificate. Further details of this and other events going on this summer in and around the area are available from your local library. Named School Uniform Some items of named school uniform have not been returned to who they belong to by children or parents. Although we would ask that parents please make sure that all school uniform is clearly named, parents should also check that the uniform that their child brings home – particularly after their school clubs - is their own and does not belong to somebody else. If you find you have picked up the wrong jumper then please return it to the office. School Production Tickets Tickets are now available from the school office for the performances on Wednesday 14th July at 2pm and 6pm and Thursday at 6pm. Each family can have two tickets, if you require further tickets they will be available from Monday 12th July. Outgrown Footie Boots If anybody has any football boots that their child has outgrown and they would like to donate to the school then please could you give these to Mrs Fox – thank you Mrs Ryan’s Retirement As you know, Mrs Ryan is retiring at the end of this term. Typically, she does not want a fuss, but we wish to mark such an important occasion. On Thursday 22nd July we will be having a special assembly in school. Unfortunately we cannot invite parents for this as we do not have room for everybody. This will be a time for staff and children to celebrate with her. After the assembly there will be tea and cake available for any parents who wish to speak to Mrs Ryan and wish her well. Please join us at 2:45 on Thursday 22nd and help us to give Mrs Ryan all our best wishes.
