Parents and carers are welcome to come along and watch! Mrs Ryans Retirement Parents and Carers are very welcome to join us at 2.45pm on Thursday 22nd for tea and cake to wish Mrs Ryan well in her retirement Arrangements for last day of term Friday 23rd The service will start at 2.15pm and and children should be picked up from Church on that day. Places have been reserved in Church for parents/carers of Year 6 children. We also need some help to walk the children up to the Church from school and will be leaving at 1.45pm – if parents/carers are able to help then please let the office know. No book bags on that day and lunch should be provided in a disposable bag. Thank you. SPORTS DAY Please ensure that all children have their PE kits in school until after Sports Day. Children will be given a T Shirt in their team colour and they should use this on the day. Parents are asked to wash the T Shirt and return it to Mrs Fox by the end of term Reception and Years 1 & 2 Swimming Summer Term Swimming The last swimming lesson will be this Friday, 16th July and not 23rd July as published. Any parent who would like a refund of their swimming money must speak to Mrs Robinson before the end of term otherwise we will put this towards some new equipment for this year group. Please could we remind parents that any outstanding payment for the second half of term for swimming is due before the end of the summer term please! Payment can be made by cheque or cash. Please speak to Mrs Robinson in the first instance regarding payments for lessons or if you anticipate any problems. Cheques should be made payable to: CLYMPING ST MARY’S SCHOOL FUND Create a Meal for Sussex School pupils have the chance to create a meal using the very best local produce in a Sussex-inspired dish. The winning dish will be chosen and prepared by a chef from Chartwells, the County Council’s catering provider, and offered on the primary school lunch menu on Sussex Day – June 16th 2011. The lucky junior chef will also win a family day out at a West Sussex fun farm and a free week of school meals. Their school will receive a Putting Fun Back into Food workshop for students – an interactive session which teaches students about healthy living and the joy of cooking – with a Chartwells chef. Good News for disadvantaged families ‘Home Access’ This is a government drive which will help low-income families to get access to a computer and the internet to get on-line at home. If you receive free school meals or other benefits and support you will be entitled to a home access grant to buy a computer, one year’s internet access, service and support and safety features. The Home Access Grant is yours and does not need to be paid back. At the end of the 12 months you can decide if you want to keep the internet – you will not be locked into anything you do not want or cannot afford – if you need further help or have any questions you can call on 0333 200 1004 Are you eligible? If you answer ‘yes’ to the 3 questions in section one and at least one question in section 2 you could be eligible for a Home Access Grant. Section 1 Are you a parent or guardian responsible for and living with a child …… Yes …. Who is in schools years 3-9? (aged 7 -1 4) …. Who attends a state-maintained school in England full-time? …. Who has not already had a computer from Home Access Grant or similar programme? If you are able to donate prizes of any sort, please leave them in the school office. Request for Gazebos or Sunshades If any parent is able to lend us a gazebo or similar shading that we can use for the summer fayre then please could they let the office know – many thanks WE NEED SOME HELP!! We need two strong people that would be able to transport the ice cream freezer over to the village hall and back to the school so that we can sell ice creams at the Fayre – if nobody is able to help then we will not be able to offer this Raffle Tickets Thank you to those parents who have returned their tickets and money. Please make sure you return any sold tickets and money or unsold tickets to the school office at the earliest opportunity – and if you would like more tickets then please ask! Cakes for the Summer Fayre Cakes for the Fayre need to be brought into school on 19th July. These can be left in Langley Room or in Reception Many thanks At the Summer Fayre, we are having a separate ‘Bumper Bottle Tombola’ with a prize every time! Please can we ask for bottles of wine, hp sauce, vinegar, brandy etc to make it a real success. RECEPTION CHILDREN - a paper plate will be coming out this week with the idea of filling it with homemade cakes for us to sell at the Summer Fayre.
