Pupil Premium

The pupil premium grant is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England. It’s a school-level grant that gives schools extra resources to help them meet challenges, including those arising from deprivation.

It’s allocated for schools to:

  • improve the academic outcomes of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities; and
  • close the attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers across the country.

How we use the funding

We use the pupil premium grant primarily to improve quality first teaching such as professional development for teachers and purchasing effective resources. Additionally, the funding is used to provide appropriate interventions to meet our children’s academic and pastoral needs in addition to a variety of approaches.

For further information read our Pupil Premium Strategy Statement below.
