Early Years Geography

Farrant Class Winter Walk – Geography Fieldwork

Farrant Class enjoyed a winter walk around our school grounds on a cold, frosty morning as part of their Geography learning. The children explored how the environment changes during winter, noticing frost on the ground, bare trees, fallen leaves, ice and the chilly weather.

During the walk, children were encouraged to talk about what they could see, hear and feel. They shared their ideas with one another and discussed how the school grounds looked different compared to autumn. Back in the classroom, we enjoyed talking together about our observations and experiences.

This hands‑on activity helped to develop children’s curiosity about the world around them while building early observation, communication and geographical skills.
