Sports Premium & Pupil Premium
Below you will find the key information about Sports Premium funding and the school Pupil Premium Funding. This information explains how, as a school, we use this money to help the children within our school.
Pupil Premium Statement
The pupil premium grant is funding provided to schools in addition to main school funding. It is awarded on the basis of the number of children eligible for free school meals (FSM), those who have been eligible for FSM in the past six years, pupils who have been adopted from care under the Adoption and Children Act 2002 or who have left care under a Special Guardianship or Residential order, and children who are designated as CLA (Looked After Children) for more than six months. A smaller amount of funding is allocated for pupils from service families.
The government believes that it is for schools to decide how the Pupils Premium Grant is spent as we are best placed to assess the necessary provision to support pupils and families. However, we are rightly held accountable for how we have used the additional funding.

Sports Premium Spending
Sports Premium funding is money that we are given by the Government that is ring fenced for the use of promoting and developing sustainable PE provisions within the school. This money is allocated annually and is used in which ever schools decides best meets the criteria. The provision map for last years spend can be seen below. This outlines the key things that this funding has been spent on in the year, along with the aim/outcome for each spend and how this has will develop sporting within the school. At the end of each year, our Governing Body to reviews the years spending, while looking at the impact that this spending has had on school sport.
See below our Sport Premium Plan for the academic year 2019/20, which was reviewed in July 2020
We ensure that the improvements made through Sports Premium spending are sustainable through having a focus on staff development and resources for long term use, as well as investing in pupil attitudes to sport.
