Remembrance Day

Together we remembered those who have died in war - specifically those from Clymping and the local area who lost their lives in WWI

Even though we could not go to church on Thursday, we held a special Remembrance service in School.  Children in Normanby, Jenkins and Oliver class were each given information cards to  learn about individuals from Clymping and close surrounding area who served in WWI – many of whom tragically lost their lives.  Some of these young men had also attended our school when they were children.   Having this powerful link to our local history really struck home, and the desire for peace was poignant. In the words of a poem that was read:

poppy poem

Farrant class made poppies and a wreath, which we laid at the front of the hall, together with the names and photos.
