Jenkins Class

Welcome to Jenkins Class

We are all looking forward to a great year of learning and growing together. Our memorable; learning journeys have been carefully designed to engage and inspire the children.

Each topic begins with a knowledge harvest to capture the children's ideas and stimulate their thinking. WOW experiences are carefully planned to immerse the children in their learning and further promote questions and ideas to explore. Mini adventures, both within school and off-site, are carefully devised to help capture learning in a 'real-life' context.

Our topic, this half-term, is life during the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age.

Next half-term our topic will be geography based and is called - Where in the World? If you have family around the globe - please discuss this with your children in order for them to be able to make connections.

We see the home-school partnership as vital to our curriculum and families are encouraged to support their child's learning at home by helping them to complete one of the half termly topic based tasks.

In addition, please encourage your child to learn weekly spellings and times tables.  Your children will bring home a reading book, please read with or to them daily if possible. Remember to record this in their reading record book.

Please ensure your child has their P.E. kit every day. Our scheduled lessons are on Wednesdays and Fridays, but they may need their kit at other times.

Get in touch with us at drop off, pick up or preferably through ClassDojo.
